A new CDr release by the Bear Bertucci Duo on the Chicago-based free improvisation-focused Peira label. Ed Bear and Lea Bertucci have released several titles as TwistyCat, a New York City-based bass clarinet, baritone saxophone, and electro-acoustic duo, on labels such as Baked Tapes, Obsolete Units, and Abandon Ship Records. A limited edition of 100 copies. This release marks a sonic and formal departure from previous recordings. Simultaneously minimal and lush, structured improvisations are ornamented with vibraphone and AM radio textures. Employing electroacoustic/extended techniques, they explore microtonal harmony to create a slowly shifting sonic space that reverberates with a mournful transcendence. Peira.
